AXIS AND ALLIED PLANES Reef 2.10 p.m. RUGBY, Dec. 1. Official returns show that the Axis lost-521 planes in November and the Allies 476. The Japanese lost 476 in the South-west Pacific. a In Europe alone the R.A.F. lost 224, in Italy and surrounding area 73, and in the Middle East 36. The U.S.A.A.F. lost 140 over Europe, ' but destroyed 247 Axis planes. 'In Italy, etc., the Axis lost 182, over Europe 61, over Britain 13, and in-the Middle East 13. —b:o.w. : ■_ '
