RETURN HOME REFUSED

A sentence of one month's imprisonment was imposed by Mr. W. C. Harley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday on Helen Handley Cranshaw, waitress, 18, after she had refused to return to her parents in Dunedin. She and Mabel Evelyn. Wells, waitress, 18, had pleaded guilty to being idle and disorderly, and Wells, who undertook to return to her home in Timaru, was admitted to probation for six months. Senior-Sergeant T. Campagnolo said the accused had done little work since they arrived in Wellington in September and had been leading an immoral life with servicemen. When arrested Wells had 3d and Cranshaw ljd. The Magistrate recommended that Cranshaw be medically examined.
