MAN-POWER AND SOLDIERS

Sir, —Can the man-power force a returned (2nd N.Z.E.F. soldier), grade 3P, to accept work offered by them if the soldier is at present employed daily as a casual and is satisfied with his present position and pay? The soldier is waiting to take up land when a suitable farm is available.— I am, etc., 2nd N.Z.E.F.

[Legally, this soldier is subject to the man-power regulations, states the National, Service Department, but the man-power officers, as a matter of policy, are not directing returned overseas men into work which, they do not desire to accept.]
