METHODIST CHURCH

The Rev. F. Bateup presided over the quarterly meeting of the Wellington West Methodist Circuit, held in the Molesworth Street Church recently, the Rev. C. E. Dickens being associated with him. Sympathy was expressed with the relatives of the late Mr. E. Wallwork, of the Karori Church. The financial statement, presented by Mr. W. A. Heath, revealed a small debit balance. Interesting reports were given on the youth work of the circuit and on the work of the women's organisations. Invitations were extended to the Rev. F. Bateup to remain in the circuit for a fourth year, and to the Rev. C. E. Dickens for a second year. Tributes were paid to the work of both ministers, and the invitations were accepted. Mesdames W. B. Scott and H. Payne and Mr. R. E. Flaws were appointed representatives to the District Synod, to be held in November, and Messrs. S. Roberts and C. L. Blackburn were appointed auditors.
