LUFTWAFFE'S RECORD
CLAIMS BY CHIEF OF STAFF Rec. 10.15 a.m. LONDON, October 8,
Field-Marshal Milch, Chief of the German Air Staff, broadcasting over Berlin radio, claimed that the Luftwaffe in the past few years had dropped over 35,000,000 bombs and shot down over 61,000 enemy planes, and also that since the outbreak of war it had sunk 6,000,000 tons of enemy shipping and damaged 12,000,000 tons.

WAR TALKS IN INDIA
LONDON, Od'tofeer 8. The largest gathering of British and American military chiefs ever seen in India is at present in New Delhi for talks with the supreme commander in South-east Asia, Lord Louis Mountbatten.
The latest arrivals are the commanding general of the United States forces in China, Burma, and India, Lieuten-ant-General Stilwell, and the commanding general of the United States army supply services, LieutenantGeneral Somerville.
