Miss Helen Smith, who left New Zealand some weeks ago, has arrived in England. Miss Smith, who is a Karitane nurse, accompanied Mrs. Clouston, wife of Squadron Leader Clouston, who was returning *to England with her small son.

i Mrs. H. T. J. Thacker, Mrs. A. Keith Hadfield, and Miss R. Wilkie will leave Christchurch on October 18 for Wellington to attend a conference of delei gates from free kindergartens. Lady Sidey, Dunedin, will also attend the conference. Mrs. H. J. Barnicoat, Dominion president of the New Zealand Women's Institutes, will leave Wellington tonight to tour the West Coast federations.
