STRUGGLE FOR KOS
FIGHTING CONTINUES
LONDON, October 6. There are no further details of the situation in Kos. Today's Middle East communique simply says that fighting continues on the island against strong German forces.
Press reports say that fighting is occurring on the island of Samos, in the Dodecanese, where the Germans' have occupied important positions, says the Exchange Telegraph Agency's Ankara correspondent. The Germans also appear to control Leros and Kos, where resistance ceased on Monday night.
