MR. HOGAN'S CAMPAIGN
A meeting of about 800 people was addressed at the Palace Theatre, Petone, by Mr." J. Hd'gan (Independent, Hutt) last night;-". c . \ > V. •< >< In the course-of his speech Mr. Hogan said that on Tuesday night Mr. Nash, speaking in Petone, had spent a great deal of time giving figures and statements regarding the improvement in the position of the dairy farmers under his administration. "When, Mr. Nash declared that the dairy farmers were very well off and very satisfied with their conditions, all the dairy farmers of Petone cheered him to the echo," he said. "Actually, your time was deliberately taken up listening to things you knew nothing about 7 and could not criticise/
Mr. Hogan then quoted the following telegram received by him. from Mr. A. E. Robinson* Auckland^ Provincial Secretary of the New Zealand Farmers' Union: "Farmers' income one-eighth of 80 millions given by Nash. Many other figures utter nonsense."
