MAORI SEATS
POLLING DAY TOMORROW
Tomorrow is polling day for Maori electors. There, are four Maori seats —Northern Maori; Eastern Maori, Western Maori, and Southern Maori. Wellington is in the Western Maori electorate, in which provision has been made for over 200 polling places, including St. Paul's Schoolroom, Sydney Street East; the Labour Hall, Petone; St. Paul's Schoolroom, Waiwhetu; Public Works Department office, Trentham; and the meeting-house, Porirua. Polling will be between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. It is expected that the final results should be known between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Facilities for postal and absentee voting are available to Maoris, and arrangements have also been made to enable Maori members of the Armed Forces to vote before polling day. There are nine candidates for the Northern Maori seat, six for Western Maori, two for Eastern Maori, and four for Southern Maori.
