Eec. 11 a.m. RUGBY Sept. 21 An • India communique states that the .general situation in Burma remains unchanged and that activity is confined to regular patroUinj. R.A.F. Beaufighters yesterday carried out a series of attacks on Japanese road and rail communications over western Burma stretching from You in the north to the Maungup Pass road in the south. Sixteen army lorries were hit. Mohawks bombed Japanese-occupied villages near Kawlin, scoring direct hits on buildings and starting large fires. In Arakan, Venturas bombed enemy-occupied areas. No aircraft are missing.—8.0. W.
