Duties will be both administrative and clinical, and the successful applicant will be responsible to the Medical Superintendent of the Wellington Hospital, who is the Board's chief executive officer. Applicants are required to have had experience in general surgery, and the successful applicant must be able and willing to undertake emergency surgery as part of his clinical duties. Duties commence on the opening of the Hutt Valley Hospital, which is at present expected to be early next year; or duties may be commenced a little earlier, by arrangement.
