MESSAGE TO CHIANG
Rec. 11 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 5. Mr. Winston Churchill has-sent the following telegram to Marshal Chiang Kai-shek: "On behalf of the Government and people of this country I send you my sincere thanks for your Excellency's kind and inspiring message on the occasion of this fourth anniversary of the day on which we took up arms against aggression. Since that day we have passed through an anxious time, but now our arms have been blessed by Providence with ever-in-creasing success, and we are celebrating this anniversary by new ventures.
"Though the battle will still be long and hard we can now look forward more confidently than ever before to victory and making a new world towards the establishment of which your great and dauntless country has made an unforgettable contribution."-r-8.0.W.
