His Excellency the GovernorGeneral attended Divine service at St. Anne's Church, Northland, this morning.

Mr. H. Temple White has returned from Dunedin, where he has been judging the local competitions.

Mr. A. R. Lowe, who has been appointed private secretary to the Minister of Rehabilitation (Major C. F. Skinner), was formerly in Mr. Semples office when he was administering that portfolio. Mr. Lowe is a returned soldier of -the present war. He served in Greece and Libya and was invalided back to New Zealand last year Before the war he was with the Public Works Department for six years. His home town is Whangarei and he was educated at the Daxgaville High School. , '
