FIXING SELLING PRICE
AN OTAGO SUGGESTION P.A. DUNEDIN, This Day. Proposals for submission to the joint deputation of the Dominion executive of the. Real Estate Institute and the Associated Chambers of Commerce which is to meet the Prime Minister regarding the Land Settlement Bill were discussed at a meeting of the Real Estate Institute of Otago. The meeting, while contending that the Bill should be postponed, suggested that, if it is proceeded with, provision should be made to enable a vendor to apply to the Land Sales Committee to fix the. selling price before a property was offered, thus avoiding lengthy delays. Some members expressed the opinion that the transfer restrictions should not include urban properties over £3000 in value, as these did not materially affect discharged servicemen. Members also stated that had the public been fully aware of how their interests would be affected, much more pressure would have been brought to bear for postponement of the Bill. *
