August 12. His Excellency the Governor-General presided at a meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Patriotic Fund Board this morning.

Councillor W. J. Gaudin and Messrs. L. B. Hutton, General Manager, of the Electricity Department, and Mr. R. S. Maunder, assistant manager, will represent the City Council at the power supply conference at Napier in April.

The Very Rev. A. K. Warren, Dean of Christchurch, who has been attending the International Round Table of Christian Leaders at Princeton, U.S.A., is expected to return to New Zealand shortly. .
