WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY

At this week's meeting the Presbytery of Wellington received a visit from the Rt. Rev. J. G. Laugh ton, Moderator of General Assembly and director of Maori missions. Mr. Laughton addressed the Presbytery. The Presbytery received the resignation of the Rev. A. Salmond, M.A., minister at Karori. Mr. Salmond has been requested by the chaplain's committee 'of Assembly to undertake chaplaincy work in the Armed Forces for the duration. Commissioners from the Karori congregation, Messrs. D. Morrison, H. C. McTaggart, and J. H. Thompson, agreed to the release, and to the acceptance of the resignation. The Presbytery appointed the Rev. W. H. P. McKenzie, of Wadestown, to act as interim-moderator of the Karori charge during the vacancy.
