NEW YUGOSLAV CABINET
LONDON, August 11
Following the acceptance by King Peter of Yugoslavia of the resignation of Mr. Trifunovic and his Cabinet yesterday, a new Cabinet, with the former Yugoslav Minister in Paris, Dr. Puritch, as Prime Minister has been formed. It is composed of five Serbs, one Croat, and one Slovene.
The Prime Minister also takes the portfolio of Foreign Affairs and is Acting Minister of War. General Mikhailovitch is Minister of War, Minister of Air, and Minister of the Navy. Mr. Milicevitch takes the portfolio of the Interior, and Dr. Martinivitch is Minister of Finance, of Commerce, and of Industry. The new Cabinet is the second in six weeks.
Reuters diplomatic correspondent says Mr. Trifunovic's Cabinet's resignation arose immediately "from the insistence of the Croat Ministers that outstanding political questions should be settled before the Government moved to Cairo.
The new Government is composed of a few high officials who, it is hoped, will be able to carry on undisturbed by party friction. The retention of General Mikhailovitch as War Minister should guarantee full support for the heroic leader of Yugoslav resistance to the invader.
Dr. Puritch is a distinguished Serb diplomat. THe new Government is expected to move to Cairo this month.
Shock and ah injury to his spine were suffered today by Mr. W. D. Jones, rigger, 9 Hutt Road, Petone, in an accident in the Kaiwarra Gorge. He stepped, offi,a ladder on to a loose piece of timber,; and fell backwards on to broken concrete. He was taken to hospital by the| Free Ambulance.
