EGGS EASE IN PRICE
Eggs are cheaper today, but Combined Distributors, Ltd., the local distributing authority advises that the supply for civilian purposes is unchanged at 20 per cent, over the issues for preference, registrations. The wholesale prices of eggs today, with those for last week shown in parentheses, are as follows: —Heavy grade 2s 5d a dozen (2s B£d)> standard 2s 3d (2s 6|d), medium 2s Id (2s 4£d), pullets Is 9id (2s Id), large duck 2s 3d (2s 6£d), small duck 2s Id (2s 4£d).
War or no war, studmasters of the wool industry are determined to maintain quality. At the last Sydney stud sheep sales, the highest price for years —1200 guineas—was paid for a merino ram from the Bundemar stud. Other high prices were 700, 525, and 450 guineas for rams, also from Bundemar, and 610 for one from Mungadal.
