August 7. His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral received Air Vice-Marshal R. V. Goddard this afternoon.
August 8. His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral attended Divine Service at St. James's Church; Lower Hutt, this morning.
Captain C. A. L. Mansergh, R.N., has left Government House.
Mr. H. S. Innes, assistant manager for the Union Steam Ship -Company at Auckland, has retired after nearly 47 years' service with the company. Mr. Innes, who held his Auckland position for about nine years, spent most of his service with the company in the northern city, but he was on the staffs of the New Plymouth, Dunedin, and Napier branches for varying terms..
Mr. Justice Blair is presiding at the quarterly sessions of the Supreme Court at Napier, and Mr. Justice Johnston at the sessions at Wanganui.
