Unpleasant conditions prevailed for the Hawke's Bay Hunt Meeting, the weather being overcast with a strong wind, but the track was in good order. There was a very fair attendance, and the totalisator handled £18,127, compared with £17,530 last year.i an increase of £597. Proving to be definitely superior, Hulrangl Sun won the Harold Russell Memorial Steeplechase very comfortably, only three competitors completing the course. In the Tikokino Handicap, the principal flat event, Indian Sport won nicely from Lotto and Boulder Dam.
