SUB-LIEUTENANT EATON
Sub-Lieutenant (A.) Albert Neville Eaton, who was recently reported missing, presumed killed, was born in 1918. He was educated at the -Kilbirnie School and at Rongotai College, matriculating at the age of 16. He joined the..: firm, of Winstorie, - Ltd.. - working
there for about six years until he joined up. He left New Zealand in May, 1941, and received his commission in February, 1942. He was in the Barracuda Dive Bomber Torpedo Squadron of the Fleet Air Arm, in which there were more New Zealanders than in any other squadron. Sub-Lieutenant Eaton was an enthusiastic tennis player, and for three consecutive years was champion of the Te Rama Tennis Club, winning also the mixed doubles title before going, overseas. He was also a Rugby player, and while overseas found the opportunity for distinguishing himself •in both these games. ""' __.
