DEMOCRATIC LABOUR
OTAKI AND THAMES SEATS
Democratic Labour Party candidates for the Otaki and Thames seats were announced by the Dominion secretary, Mr. F. M. Earle, last night. They are: Otaki.—Mr. James Barnett, aged 45; has had extensive farming experience and for three years was secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants (Otago). He has two sons in Uie armed forces.
Thames.—Mr. Balfour Dawson, J.P., 51, a farmer, former chairman of the Coromandel County Council; served overseas in the Great War, being appointed to a commission in the field; also served 18 months overseas in this war; a member of a pioneer Wairarapa family.
