BOWLING

KARORI CLUB Support for reviving the inter-club pennant competitions was given unanimously at the annual meeting of the Karori Bowling Club, and with regard to the method of conducting the competitions it was felt that^the centre would devise ways and means to meet the position created by transport and any other difficulties. The retiring president (Mr. A. Dempster) congratulated the club on a successful year and paid tribute to the work of the officers. Feeling reference was made to the loss sustained in the deaths of four membersMessrs. W. Burrow (for 13 years the club's treasurer), W. Simm, H. C. Wright, andE. Wallwork. Trophies won during the season were presented as follows:—Champion singles (Parsons Cup and badge), T. Adams: champion pairs (George Gapes Trophy and badges), A. T. Percy and F. H. Fredericks (s); champion fours (Dempster Cup and badges), L. B. Oldaker, R. R. Hornblow, F.-.H. Fredericks and F. J. Christensen (s); junior and handicap singles, H. E C. Wiffin; Henderson Cup, G. H. Holford, F./W. Mathews.A. T. Percy,'F. H. Fredericks (s); and Field Pairs, K. Bartlett and L. B. Oldaker (s). Officers were elected as follows: — President, Mr. A. J. Dixon; vice-presi-dent, Mr. W. H. Fisher; green superintendent, Mr. W. C. Cooper; hon. secretary, Mr. C. Holden; hon. treasurer, Mr. A. Henderson; delegate to centre, Mr. A. Dempster; committee, Messrs. F. J. Christensen, F. H. Fredericks, J. Wyatt, L. B. Oldaker, H. Townsley, F. Platt, and S. C. IVield, with the preceding officers ex-offic|io; coach, Mr. Wyatt, assistant coach, Mr. Fredericks; selectors, Messrs. Chrisfjnsen (Saturday) and H. Cattanaclf (midweek); hon. auditor, Mr. H. W. 'Kelleher; publicity officer, Mr. R. R. Hornblow. The "two-life" system was adopted for the club competitions.
