MEN ON FURLOUGH "Will the Minister give instructions that service women in New Zealand who are married to. or are about to marry service men on furlough from overseas will be granted leave while their husbands are on furlough?" asked Mr. J. Apland (National, Temuka) in a question addressed to the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones) in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon. Mr. Acland said that at present the service girls who were being married during the furlough period were given only one week's leave. "A short period of leave is alreadybeing granted in cases such as those represented," said the Minister in reply. "The question of increasing the period of leaye is at present receiving consideration, and it is hoped to make an announcement at an early date." ii
