FRENCH TROOPS IN SICILY
NEW YORK, July 14.
French troops are fighting at the side of- their allies -in Sicily, said General Giraud in his first public speech in America, addressing cadets at the West Point Academy. "The battle for Tunisia was the first victory, and today in Sicily British, American, and some French troops are winning an even greater victory," he said. "Tomorrow they will liberate Europe, but the task, will remain in the Pacific, where French troops will also fight at your side till the final victory is won."

LONDON, July 14,
It is officially announced in Algiers that the Allies unloaded supplies for the civilian population of south-eastern Sicily, as food, cigarettes, and other commodities have been severely rationed.
