LONDON,' July 12. There ■ has been some. slackening. of the German drive north of the Kursk salient, but bitter fighting has raged all .•: day north of Byelgorod. ::
Renter's correspondent says the Red Army is confident that it has the measure of the Germans, who were driven back by Soviet counter-attacks.
The enemy air attacks appeared to be feebler, but this may have been due to the terrible losses suffered by the Luftwaffe and necessary reforming and regrouping of forces.
