HIGH COST OF U.S. WAR
Rec. noon. RUGBY, July 9. The United States Treasury disclosed that the Federal Government spent 1,599,000,000 dollars, or about £400,000,000, during the first week of the new fiscal year starting on July 1, 1943. This was approximately 50 per cent, above the corresponding week in 1942—8.0. W.
