FOR SERVICEWOMEN

Sir, —I would like to draw your attention to the insufficient accommodation for our servicewomen in Wellington. Recently I have spoken to a number of girls in uniform, and they have mentioned the lack of hostels for accommodation. If we men can get a decent bed and showers, etc., while on leave, why not the girls? It is true that the Y.W.C.A. is open to servicewomen, but that is hardly sufficient to allow the number of girls on leave to book in at once. These girls are helping the war effort by enlisting in different branches of service, and it is up to us to see that they are treated fairly. Again, in quite a number of clubs servicewomen axe not permitted. Why so? —I am, etc.,

ONE WHO IS DISGUSTED.
