EIGHT DESTROYED
CAUGHT AROUND SOLOMONS
LONDON, July 5. It was announced tonight that at least eight Japanese midget submarines have been destroyed in the Solomons area. These craft are 76ft long, six feet wide, and arc driven by a single electric motor amidships. Each is operated by two men.
