AUSTRALIAN ELECTION
CANBERRA, July 5. The Australian Federal election will be held on August 21. The date of the election was announced by the Prime Minister, Mr. J. Curtin, today, after he had visited the Governor-General, Lord Gowrie. Parliament will be dissolved by proclamation on Wednesday.
