piA; AUCKLAND, This Day. The captain of the Hudson bomber credited with sinking the first Japanese, submarine positively destroyed by the ILN.Z-A.F. in the Solomons was Filbt Officer Colin S. Marceau, of Mt Eden. Auckland. He was recently awarded the D.F.C. for this exploit He ' had just been commissioned, but news of. his promotion had not reached him at the time.
