CONDEMNED TO DIE
NUMBER OF DUTCHMEN
LONDON, July 3,
According to radio Orange, the Germans condemned to death a fairly large number of Dutchmen, including the former commander of the Netherlands army in the field, General Roell. It is learned that the trials were based on evidence taken in a concentration camp. It is not known whether the executions were carried out.' The Berne correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" reports that the editor of the "Brusseler Zeitung" was arrested for an article on the effect of military reverses on German morale. The Nazis confiscated the editions of the paper which contained the article.
