R.N.Z.A.F. RAISES £121,000

Setting.itself an objective of raising at .least £100,000 during the past Air Force Week of the loan.-the personnel of the Royal New-Zealand Air Force and ;the Air, Department -had, at 9 o'clock this morning, exceeded this total by< more than £20,000, the grand total then being £121,286. Further results from various stations have yet to come in. ' ' The average total contribution by each;member of the Air Force and.Air Department, is very high, as evidenced at< Southern GroupI,' R.N.Z;A.F. Headquarters, where., the ; average, "contribution,'inclusive of all ranks, was £25. Another station. struck an, average '■■ of ;£ 19 a-head, while on another station the contribution made by commissioned ranks alone averaged over £78 ,ah Officer. .....■.,■ '.' ■ ;■ One raider, one fighter, anti-aircraft fire, and a highspeed- rescue; launch provided a demonstration itoday. The raider, was; shot down and slithetfed down trailing smoke. By excellent timing a parachute and, the launch reached the same shot in the-harbour at the same time. All .the E.P.S. sirens, knd detonations arranged by the Army, completed the1 little show.
