NO OBJECTORS
MR. HOLLAND EXPLAINS
The" statement that if the National Party was returned to power no conscientious objector would be appointed to the Rehabilitation Board, attributed to the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. Holland) in a newspaper report of a speech made by him at Whangarei, had never been made by him, said Mr. Holland in the House of Representatives last night when he replied to Mr. E. L. Cullen (Government, Hawke's Bay). On the previous night Mr. Cullen had read the report to the House. Mr. Cullen, who was a member of the board, had "said the inference was that there were conscientious objectors on the board, and he denied Mr. Holland said he had looked up other newspapers in which a report of his speech had appeared, and they had reported him as saying that no conscientious objector \yould have any say in the rehabilitation of the men who returned from the war. That, was what,he had said. ■
