"DISCONTENT CAUSED"

ARMY APPOINTMENTS Notice of a question concerning appointments to commissions on the temporary military staff was given to the Minister of Defence by Mr. W. Sullivan (National, Bay of Plenty) in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon. . He asked whether it was the Government's policy to appoint men without any military experience and who were graded and eligible for overseas service, while at the same time reducing to non-commissioned rank men who had been serving with combatant units and who had won their commissions. . A Mr. Sullivan said that three appointments to the temporary staff had been gazetted on June 17, the new, officers being employed in the Security Investigation Bureau.
