WAR PENSIONS
ATTRIBUTABILITY POLICY Confidence that the procedure suggested regarding attributability would remove war pension difficulties that had been in existence since the last war was expressed by Mr. A. G. Osborne (Government, Onehunga), speaking in the Budget debate in the House of Representatives last evening. He was replying to Lieutenant J. B. F. ; Cotterill (Government, Wanganui), ! who had expressed doubt about the working of the new system of attributability under which the onus is placed on the Government and not on the soldier seeking a pension. Mr. Osborne said he had had discussions with the secretary of the War [Pensions Board, and on Friday next ! Government representatives would meet representatives of the R.S.A: He had had- a glance at the tentative proposals regarding attributability and thought it would be found that difficulties would be removed. On behalf of the Government he thanked the R.S.A. for its helpful attitude during discussions on war pensions.
