RADIO DEALERS' LICENCES
A substantial reduction in the licence fees payable by all six classes of radio dealers is made in amended regulations. It is stated that the reductions are made to assist dealers because of their considerably depleted stocks. There are about 780 radio dealers of all categories in the Dominion. A quarterly issue of patriotic parcels has been made to all New Zealand soldiers, sailors, airmen, nurses, and welfare workers serving in the Middle East, states the N.Z.E.F. Official News Service. Many transport difficulties had to be overcome so that those scattered all over the Middle East and the airmen at Malta should receive a parcel. Support for the Dig for Victory home gardening campaign was given by the Wellington Trades Council at a meeting this week. The meeting was addressed by Mr. Ben Roberts, M.P., who spoke of the importance of homegrown vegetables in New Zealand's wartime food supply. The council recorded its support of the scheme and its appreciation of the efforts of Mr. ■ Roberts to ensure its success. j
