COUNCILLORS AND MAYOR'S ACTION The following notice of motion, to be placed before the City Council at its next meeting, was lodged with the Town Clerk this afternoon:— "That we, the members of the Wellington City Council, entirely dissociate ourselves from the action of his Worship the Mayor in refusing the request of his Honour the Chief Justice and Lady Myers for an invitation to attend the reception tendered to Lieu-tenant-General Sir Bernard Freyberg at the Majestic Theatre on Tuesday, the 22nd instant, and express to the Chief Justice our deep regret at the action of the Mayor.". The signatories are:—Councillors Martin Luckie, R. L. Macalister, Malcolm Fraser, R. H. Nimmo, E. M. Gilmer, and W. Duncan. A free gift of an Oxford vapouriser has been received by the Wellington Hospital Board, through the Department of Health, from Lord Nuffield.
