MR. JONES AT DOVER
(Special P.A. Correspondent.) LONDON, June 8. The New Zealand Minister of Defence, (Mr. F: Jones, had a glimpse of France through a haze when he visited the Dover 'defences and saw the big guns -which engage in' long-range duels with" the' Germans.-' - One gun fired several practice' rounds, enabling Mr. Jones to.match the speed and efficiency with which the big pieces are manned and handled.
Mr. Jones, whose stay in Britain is drawing to a close, met the Queen at the Allied Nations' Summer Fair in aid of the Red Cross.
