CHANGE !N AUSTRALIA
CANBERRA, June 9.
Many Australian munitions workers are to be transferred to aircraft, shipbuilding, and other war industries. Thousands of operatives are expected to be affected.
Announcing this, the Minister of Munitions, Mr. N. J. O. Makin, said that the Commonwealth's munitions effort had produced such magnificent results that the initial needs of equipment by the services had been substantially supplied and future production would coyer replacements and reserves. Machines would be maintained to meet emergency orders for the classes of munitions, the production of which would be slowed down.
