RATIONED FOOD
FIXING HEALTHY DIET
Replying to an urgent question in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon, the Minister of Supply (Mr. Sullivan) was not drawn on the subject of whether there is to be an early extension of the rationing of foodstuffs in common use. The question was asked by Miss M. Howard (Government, Christchurch East) on behalf of the member for Napier (Mr. Barnard). The Minister said that whether or not there was an early extension of the rationing of foodstuffs in common use, the Food Controller would be pleased to receive representations from and to consult with organisations of women for the purpose of fixing a scale of diet calculated to conform to the health and the needs of the people. Such organisations as might wish to be consulted should communicate with the food Controller. ;
