MORE POWER TO ROOSEVELT
WASHINGTON, June 2,
The Senate completed legislative action on a measure extending President Roosevelt's authority "to make reciprocal trade agreements for a further two years. It rejected a long series of limiting amendments.
The Associated Press says that the renewal of the authority constitutes a victory for the Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, who insisted that any alteration would be interpreted abroad as an indication that Congress did not desire to co-operate with other nations in solving post-war problems.
