DUTCH RESISTANCE
CALL BY THE PREMIER
(Rec. 11.10 a.m.) RUGBY, May 3. The Netherlands Prime Minister, Professor Gerbrandy, in a broadcast today, called on the Dutch not to obey the Germans, especially in connection with the recent decree ordering the reim prisonment of all Dutch soldiers who were taken prisoner after the German invasion, but who were later released, and appealed to the entire population to do everything to prevent the success of the decree and to help the prospective victims. Dr. Gerbrandy emphasised that this was not a call to general armed resistance, and added: "When the moment for that comes the Netherlands Government will let you know in a manner which cannot be mistaken. For the moment the most irn portant thing is to resist only the German attempt on Holland's able-bodied men. The Queen and her Government count upon the full co-operation, willingness to make sacrifices, and determination of all Netherlander." —8.0.W
