CIVIL DEFENCE
SCHOOL OF INSTRUCTION
As a result of a week's intensive instruction in the second operational training course of the Civil Defence School of Instruction, 16 trainees have qualified for the school's certificate as local training officers. They belong to Whangarei, Auckland, Pukekohe, Rotorua, Thames, Gisborne, Stratford, Blenheim, Nelson, Lyttelton, Ashburton, Westport, Dunedin, and Bluff. The headquarters, lecturers report th at they were impressed by the high standard maintained by the trainees.
The Minister of Civil Defence (Mr. Wilson) said yesterday that all concerned had reason to be pleased with the successful operation of the school. The spread of information about this important training was creating a keen demand for the formation of further classes. Between now and the end of June there would be five courses of a week each at the School of Instruction, including specialist courses and a refresher course.
