WOMEN OFFICERS
PASSING-OUT CEREMONY
Officer cadets of the" W.A.A.C. who successfully completed the course for the second women's O.C.T.U. participated in a formal passing-out ceremony yesterday, and were inspected by the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant-General E. Puttick. Twenty-one paraded for inspection by the general, who was accompanied by Mrs. V. Jowett, Chief Commander of the W.A.A.C.
At the conclusion of the parade, General Puttick congratulated the new officers on their success and on their bearing on parade. "I view this parade not so much on the results that have been obtained," he said, "but as evidence of your endeavour to do something to the best of your ability." He said that they would find happiness in their new position in the knowledge that they were doing something important to help win the war, and he hoped on future occasions to have the opportunity of seeing them carrying out their new duties.
