MARINE INSURANCE

SURCHARGE AGREEMENT

Advices have been received from London that a new marine surcharge agreement has been adopted to apply to all sailings on and after April 15. The new agreement embraces the present marine surcharge, the current wartime extension clause, and also the new free of capture and seizure clause. Transhipping by vessels other than sailers is covered.

The rates for the principal voyages are provided under four categories, as follows: —(1) Free of particular average or with average; (2) F.P.A. or W.A., including theft, pilferage, non-delivery, short delivery, and shortage; (3) fuller conditions, excluding theft, pilferage, non-delivery, short delivery, and shortage; (4) fuller conditions, including theft, pilferage, non-delivery, short delivery, and shortage, and are set out in that order, per cent, in each case.
