NEW TYPE OF AIRCRAFTCARRIER
(Rec. 2.20 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 18. '"" The production of a new type of dual-purpose aircraft-carrier which can be delivered at the rate of one every six months is announced by Mr. Henry Kaiser, the shipbuilder. The new carriers, besides doing ordinary naval carrier duty, will serve as aeroplane transports. The first will be launched about April 5.
The- Hutt Valley Electric Power Board, as a war measure, added a mobile sub-station to its plant last year. Mr. E. F. Hollands, EngineerGeneral Managex-, reported to the board yesterday that during February the sub-station served usefully in maintaining a service with a minimum of inconvenience to consumers.
