FEWER CARS ON ROADS IN AUSTRALIA
MELBOURNE, February 17.
Only about 12 per cent, of the commercial vans now on the road in Australia will be running by the end of the year, according to experts' calculations, based on tyre and expenditure of spare parts. The Government has stated that private motorists, except in a few special categories such as doctors, will get no more tyres. Private motorists will disappear from the road as tyres now in use wear-out. 4
