EDUCATION IN HYGIENE
A letter has been received by the Wellington Education Board from the Minister of Education stating that the Department of Health will be represented on a committee which is being formed for revision of the hygiene syllabus in schools. The question of a list of approved books on sex instruction will be dealt with by this committee, which, it is underslood, will commence functioning very •-'!-. ort Jy.
William Robert Stanley, labourer, aged 53. was sentenced to two months' hard labour by Mr. Justice Blair yesterday for stealing a watch and chain valued at £3 ss, the property of the trustees of the estate of the late Richard Gumming Kebbell.
