CAUGHT IN BELTING

(P.A.) BLENHEIM, February 15. Caught in some belting at a stonecrushing plant in the Waihopai riverbed, Joseph Thomas Jaspers, married, aged 30, of Nelson, received fatal injuries. The accident occurred at knockoff time on Saturday. After the engine was actually turned off Jaspers fell against the main belt, and the last revolutions of the machinery dragged 'him round, inflicting terrible leg injuries. He died shortly afterwards in hospital.

Councillors G. L. Giesen, of Lower Hutt, and J. Huggan, of Petone, have been appointed members of the Hutt Valley Bread Zoning Committee.
